At the David Calder personal training and wellness studios you can expect to find health, fitness and wellness experts. Our atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and our five star touches will ensure that you enjoy your experience.

David is passionate about delivering great results and guiding his clients toward achieving a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Changes can be achieved fairly quickly, however we believe the goal should be to teach long term lifestyle, fitness and dietary changes.

We have affiliations with GP Plus, Edinburgh Dental Specialists and Tom Kelman Registered Osteopath.

SYLVIA CALDER

Originally from Inverness Sylvia lived in London for eighteen years, South Africa for one year and one year between Gibraltar and America.

Sylvia studied and worked as a hairdresser in London’s West End before moving into the world of fashion modelling based in London for 10 years.

Sylvia also worked for Selfridge’s department store as supervisor to a successful designer concession before later moving to O & H Properties in Knightsbridge working in facilities and also as a PA.

As co-founder and director of David Calder Limited, Sylvia facilitates and manages the daily activities of our business. She is also working on the creative side by seeking new services that match with our customer experience and values such as Graham Johnston Celebrity Makeup Artist.

DAVID CALDER

Originally from Inverness David has lived, studied and worked in Scotland , Colorado, London and the French Alps.

David studied sport in college 22 years ago before skiing for Scotland and Great Britain on the freestyle team from age 19 - 29. During this time he trained with the University of Colorado, the Finland National Ski Team and the Winter Park Freestyle Ski Team. David worked with national team ski and fitness coaches in America, France & Austria over a ten year period.

When he was in peak fitness aged 23 he qualified to compete in the Colorado Fitness Medals test in Denver, ranking 22nd in Colorado. The medals test was an invitation only fitness competition between elite athletes of all sports disciplines in Colorado.

At the pinnacle of his skiing career he was ranked second in the UK and he placed third in the prestigious Swiss National Championships. He was also offered a place on the legendary World Mogul Team, a select team of world class international skiers.

David holds diplomas in sports management, marketing, personal training, fitness testing, reflexology, and therapeutic massage. He has gained a reputation for achieving great results and he has been working with clients in London Mayfair and Edinburgh for over 14 years.

Before returning to Scotland to set up his studio in Edinburgh, he was manager of the prestigious health club at Claridge's Hotel in Mayfair for five years. In 2001 David was recognised by the Savoy Group as their most outstanding employee. This was based on his performance, management and customer service.

David’s skills have attracted an affluent client following over the last 15 years. His client list includes actors, film directors, leading Edinburgh, London and American business and medical professionals.
